In the early 1900's, Cobalt Ontario was mined for silver; the silver ore also contained cobalt which the miners marked knowing that someday it would be needed. By 1910, the community was the fourth highest producer of silver in the world. Cobalt now is a ghost town but the high demand for cobalt is going to put us back on the map.
